Located on a promontory facing Elba Island, Piombino is a charming town with a quaint historic center rich in monuments and natural attractions.

Once an important center during the Etruscan era, it later came under the rule of Elisa Bonaparte, sister of Napoleon.

Thanks to its strategic location, Piombino offers visitors many opportunities for excursions — from the scenic trail that leads from Salivoli to Baratti, to the numerous parks in the surrounding area and throughout the Val di Cornia.
